Mission and Objectives
Mission
The mission of the Faculty of Social Science is to impart the interdisciplinary knowledge and skills in the social sciences to students in order to contribute to their professional development. It also seeks to facilitate the improvement of the research capabilities of academic staff, the provision of information for policy-making in demographic, economic, legal, political and administrative affairs; and promotion of the social development of the region in general and Swaziland in particular.
Objectives
- To impart knowledge and skills to students to enable them to engage in activities that are beneficial to themselves and to their countries.
- To improve and utilize the research and consultancy capabilities of members of academic staff through the conduct of research relevant to the social, political and economic development of Swaziland.
- To provide professional advice and information for policy-making and implementation.
- To develop teaching material relevant to the social, political and economic development of the African continent, Southern Africa and Swaziland.
- To create and maintain mutually beneficial links with relevant agencies, institutions and individuals at national, regional and international levels.
