Master of Education in Curriculum and Teaching

The programme is offered by the Department of Curriculum and Teaching, under the Faculty of Post Graduate Studies, at the Kwaluseni Campus. In order to be admitted to the programme, you need to meet these requirements.

The Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Teaching in the various areas of specialization shall be by course work and thesis. The course work shall  consist of

        (a) Two compulsory course

              Research Design and Techniques

              Curriculum Theory and Development

              Introduction to Computing for Education

              Master's Thesis

       (b) One course from the area of specialization

            Commerce Education Specialization

            Language Education Specialization

            Science Education Specialization

            Social Studies Education Specialization

       (c) One course from the electives

           Learning and Learning Theories

            Foundations of Educational Administration

            Measurement, Testing and Evaluation

            Development Psychology

            Guidance and Counseling

            Comparative Education

            Theory and Practice of Teaching

All full courses shall consist of four (4) lecture hours per week for one year for full time students, while half courses  shall consist of two (2) lectures per week for one year for part time students. The course work requirements and the thesis must be completed in accordance with the General Regulations. The normal duration of the Master of Education in Curriculum and Teaching will be two years of full time or three years of part time study.
