Master of Science in Chemistry

The programme is offered by the Department of Chemistry, under the Faculty of Post Graduate Studies, at the Kwaluseni Campus.

The M.Sc. Degree programme in the various areas of specialization shall be by course work and thesis, together extending over at least four semester for full time students. The course work shall extend over the first year of study, whilst the thesis should be completed by the end of the second year.

Course work shall consist of eight  half courses, 4 in the first semester and 4 in the second semester per stream. Each course shall consist of three lecture hours per week for one semester. A Weekly 3 hour practical shall run throughout the academic year.

For part time students the course work shall extend over the first two years of study, whilst the thesis should be completed by the end of the third year. For part time students, course work shall consist of eight (8) half courses, 4 in the first year (two semesters) per stream. Practicals shall run throughout the two years.
