Qualifications and Experience: 

• A PhD in Journalism, Mass Communication or Media Studies.
• University teaching and media industry experience will be an added advantage.

Duties: 

1. To teach Journalism (Print and/or Broadcast);
2. To carry out research in the discipline;
3. To supervise Undergraduate students’ research projects;
4. To coordinate the distance learning programme for media practitioners; and
5. To engage in Community Service.

Appointment Terms: 

Local Candidates
Permanent and Pensionable service after successful completion of two years on probation; 10% Recruitment and Retention Allowance, Housing/Housing allowance and Medical Aid contribution.
 
Expatriate Candidates
Two-year contract with a possibility for renewal by mutual consent subject to satisfactory performance plus Gratuity, 10% Recruitment and Retention Allowance, Housing/Housing Allowance, Medical Aid contribution and relocation expenses.
