Qualifications and Experience: 

• At least a Master’s Degree in Language/Linguistics with a specialization in Syntax, Semantics and Pragmatics.
• A PhD in the related field will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge in any Nguni languages, preferably SiSwati.

Duties: 

1. To teach courses related to Syntax, Semantics and Pragmatics;
2. To supervise students’ research projects;
3. To conduct research in the discipline; and
4. To engage in Community Service.

Appointment Terms: 

Local Candidates
Permanent and Pensionable service after successful completion of two years on probation; 10% Recruitment and Retention Allowance, Housing/Housing allowance and Medical Aid contribution.
 
Expatriate Candidates
Two-year contract with a possibility for renewal by mutual consent subject to satisfactory performance plus Gratuity, 10% Recruitment and Retention Allowance, Housing/Housing Allowance, Medical Aid contribution and relocation expenses.
