Qualifications and Experience: 

• A First Degree in Marketing and a demonstrated flair for numeracy;
• A Master’s Degree in Marketing will be an added advantage; and
• Marketing experience of at least 5 years in a large organization.


The Marketing Officer shall be responsible for the following:
• Develop marketing programs, design marketing strategies, and implement marketing campaigns for the University;
• Establish and implement short and long range marketing goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for the University;
• Evaluate marketing programme effectiveness and effect changes required for improvement;
• Develop and manage annual marketing budgets for the University, and regularly monitor expenditures; prepare summary assessments and reports;
• Initiate and implement direct outreach marketing efforts to potential external customers on behalf the University’s programmes and services;
• Investigate, research and prepare reports on key marketing issues and undertake market research, competitor analysis, statistical and trend analyses;
• Work closely with other administrative and academic staff to take responsibility for the organisation of events to an agreed schedule. Include major student       
   Recruitment events, conferences and exhibitions such as postgraduate and undergraduate Open Days and fairs, graduation and public lectures;
• Represent the University at appropriate recruitment and promotional events and attend as required;
• Contribute to social media accounts to maximise the positive exposure of the University across these platforms; and
• Ensure that collaborative relationships are developed in marketing across the university, working and exchanging information and identifying and capitalising on
   opportunities for shared advertising, events and other marketing activity.

Other Attributes: 

• Good interpersonal skills;
• Excellent writing and communication skills; and
• Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.

Appointment Terms: 

Local Candidates
Permanent and Pensionable service after successful completion of two years on probation; 10% Recruitment and Retention Allowance, Housing/Housing allowance and Medical Aid contribution.
Expatriate Candidates
Two-year contract with a possibility for renewal by mutual consent subject to satisfactory performance plus Gratuity, 10% Recruitment and Retention Allowance, Housing/Housing Allowance, Medical Aid contribution and relocation expenses.
