Qualifications and Experience: 

• A PhD in Consumer Science Education/Home Economics Education OR
• A PhD in Education with Consumer Science/Home Economics at Masters and/or Undergraduate levels.
• Teaching experience at Post-Graduate level will be an added advantage.


1. To teach Post-Graduate courses in Consumer Science Education including but not limited to:
   - Advanced Teaching Methods;
   - Administration and Resource Management for Educational Leaders;
   - Education for Sustainable Development;
   - Curriculum Theory & Innovations;
   - Measurement & Testing; and
   - Vocational Education.
2. To supervise Master’s theses;
3. To supervise teaching practice;
4. To provide leadership in the Faculty and Department;
5. To conduct research in the discipline; and
6. To engage in Community Service.

Appointment Terms: 

Local Candidates
Permanent and Pensionable service after successful completion of two years on probation; 10% Recruitment and Retention Allowance, Housing/Housing allowance and Medical Aid contribution.
Expatriate Candidates
Two-year contract with a possibility for renewal by mutual consent subject to satisfactory performance plus Gratuity, 10% Recruitment and Retention Allowance, Housing/Housing Allowance, Medical Aid contribution and relocation expenses.
